Our services include air and water balance as well as troubleshooting temperature comfort issues. In addition we perform sound readings.

Air Balancing is a process of measuring and adjusting air flow to the needs of the occupants. The first step is to analyze the building loads (need for heating and cooling) in each room or area. The next step is to record the information from the equipment, and all of the supply and return registers and grilles. By analyzing the load information the target airflow for each register and grille is recorded. After this information is recorded the equipment is started and the airflow through the equipment is measured as well as the static pressures created in the duct system.

Temperature Comfort -is defined by ASHRAE as the state of mind that expresses satisfaction with the surrounding environment (ASHRAE Standard 55). Maintaining thermal comfort for occupants of buildings or other enclosures is one of the important goals of HVAC design engineers.

Sound Readings -Noise pollution caused by rooftop and ground-level HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, and air handlers has become one of the most annoying as well as dangerous environmental problems in cities worldwide. As urban noise increases and residential growth multiplies, residents and communities are demanding better noise reduction solutions for heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. Outdoor community noise problems caused by commercial and industrial HVAC systems may require an acoustically engineered Sound Barrier Wall.

Water Balancing requires testing, adjusting and balancing hydronic/water distribution systems. Proper balancing assures that water flow rates are correctly set for the loads and the selected control method.

Duct Leak Testing involves pressurizing the duct system with a calibrated fan and simultaneously measuring the air flow through the fan and its effect on the pressure within the duct system.
